diablo 3 what to do with extra legendaries

A Legendary item in Diablo III

A Legendary Item is a 5th (orange) level of item quality in Diablo 3, much like in terms of rarity to Unique Items from Diablo II. On many occasions, items of that quality are also called Legendary Items, or "Legendaries" (often abbreviated to "legos" or "legs", not to be dislocated with leg-slot pants). They are among the strongest and rarest items in Diablo III.

General Info

Different Rare Items,Legendary Items can accept affixes that normally are not allowed on that type of item (for example,Increased Movement Speed on Chest Armor). Many of them have re-rollable or non-re-rollable affixes that are unique to that item (for instance, Azurewrath damages and periodically knocks away Demon and Undead enemies in close proximity of the bearer). Normal affixes on Legendary Items volition roll significantly college (and sometimes extremely high even compared to other Legendary Items) and amount to more those on regular items of similar levels. Withal, even so, some Legendary Items are a little bit more glorified "Rares", able to boast no unusual stats nor affixes. Over fourth dimension, such Legendaries are replaced, gaining new names, descriptions and properties, while older variants become Legacy.

Legendary Affixes on items are orange in color, with numbers that may roll in some interval (if any) highlighted inbluish. Example (Winter Flurry):

  • Enemies killed by Cold damage have a fifteen–20% chance to release a Frost Nova

Orange affixes are ever Secondary, so they exercise not compete with Primary attributes of an particular. Most of these affixes can be extracted into Kanai'southward Cube.

All legendary items dropped since patch 2.0 are Account Bound, to an extent. The item will exist tradeable for the next two hours of gameplay to whatever player that was in the same game when the detail was dropped. After 2 hours of gameplay, the particular volition be spring to the player's account permanently. Legendary items become business relationship bound immediately if they are enchanted.

As of patch two.0., a Legendary item can driblet at any level equal to or above its minimum level, with stats corrected appropriately. Craftable Legendary items sometimes have two recipes (normal and max-level), each of which needs to be obtained separately. All items with minimum level of 61 or higher require admission to Reaper of Souls, although players can trade them to classic players if these items scroll an braze that lowers the level requirements.

Set Items are, substantially,Legendary Items which come with additional bonuses for wearing more than than ane piece of the same gear up. In return, Prepare Items very rarely have unique affixes.

Note that all Legendary Rings and One-Handed Weapons are Unique-Equipped, significant that a character tin only equip i item of each type at a time, and fifty-fifty if the histrion manages to find two Stone of Jordan Rings, the graphic symbol tin still only have one equipped. Nevertheless the only exception to this is that a character can still equip a pre-loot ii.0 version of that aforementioned item forth with a mail service-loot 2.0 version of the very aforementioned item. This restriction was done to prevent characters from being too powerful; to name an example, a Barbarian dual-wielding 2 Thunderfury Swords would cause massive Lightning Damage wherever the thespian went, especially if he or she was a fast-hitting character. The same dominion applies to the Kanai'south Cube "Powers Drove".

Legendary Gems and Legendary Potions exist in-game also, in addition to Legendary Equipment, that is to say.

Diablo Immortal

Legendary Items return in Diablo Immortal. They alter the actor's skills.[1]

Diablo Iv

In Diablo IV,Legendary Items will exist having an equal or even greater ability level compared to that ofReady Items in mentioned game.[2]

Acquiring

Legendaries can be dropped past monsters, chests, and destructibles. They cannot exist establish in shops (except Kadala's gambling store). Some can only exist obtained by crafting, and but after finding/buying the corresponding jeweler or blacksmith program. Some legendaries (typically those with minimum level of 70) can but be found in Torment, while others can merely be institute in Horadric Caches, and only if the enshroud was obtained from a specific Act. The Torment-sectional legendaries cannot be found in Horadric Caches.

When a legendary is beginning plant, it is unidentified. The player can identify information technology past right-clicking it. If the player has multiple unidentified legendaries, it may be quicker to travel to boondocks and use the Book of Cain. The stats for the item are created at the fourth dimension it is spawned, not when it is identified. It can have between 6 and seven magical properties, rarely more.

The first time a grapheme level 1-59 kills an act dominate, it is guaranteed to drib at least one legendary detail. Once the game is completed with that character, they tin can choose to "Reset Quests". Doing so will once again guarantee 1 legendary item for the commencement kill of each human activity boss. In one case a character reaches level 60 or higher, only Malthael will drib a guaranteed legendary item. If the player does not have Reaper of Souls, this guaranteed driblet moves to Diablo.

Each level of Torment difficulty increases the risk of a legendary to drib by 1.15^N, N being the level of Torment.[3] Nephalem Rifts also increase the drib rate of legendaries, stacking multiplicatively with other modifiers.

As of the pre-expansion patch, Diablo III also provides a bonus to the legendary drop take chances for players who take not found a legendary in a while. This has been intended for the unluckiest of players; without this, they might accept been unable to finish their quest in an efficient timeframe, fifty-fifty on lower difficulty settings. This bonus requires that the histrion spend his/her time killing monsters, but it does increase over time, in an attempt to requite all players at to the lowest degree some legendaries. The bonus is reset when a bodily legendary item, non plans or material, is dropped for that player. The bonus is even reset if the actor is not near it when it drops, such as when the player is in town selling items and another actor in their political party is out killing monsters.[4]

2 items dropped in 1 place. Rare luck. Notation the minimap icons.

Upon dropping, each Legendary item produces a distinctive sound and shows a star icon on the minimap. Each item will also be highlighted with a pillar of bright light, so it is really difficult to miss it.

Crafting

When salvaged, Legendary items will award i Forgotten Soul each. Crafting level lxx Legendary items will require two Horadric Cache materials each.

Craftable Legendary items, dissimilar the normal Legendary items, award no Forgotten Souls, only rather 1 Reusable Parts, ane Arcane Dust and i Veiled Crystal.

Aboriginal Legendary Items

Example of Ancient Legendary conversion of Lut Socks

Ancient Items are a special tier of items introduced in patch two.ane.ii. These are identical to level seventy Legendary items, except that base attributes (harm or armor) and all affixes curlicue +30-33.iii% higher values for both minimum and maximum possible rolls.

Any level 70 Legendary or Set item dropped on Torment I difficulty or higher from any source volition have a chance to exist an Aboriginal particular, with the chance increasing on higher levels of Torment (roughly 10% at Torment X). An detail gambled from Kadala, crafted by artisans or transmuted in the Kanai's Cube volition always have a 10% chance to be Ancient, unless specifically stated otherwise.

The item interface will take a brilliant golden trimming to prove that the particular is Ancient.

Examples of affix stat ranges:

  • 416-500 becomes 500-650
  • 626-750 becomes 750-g
  • 981-1490 becomes 1200-1940

Ancient items are not a carve up item tier; that is, Ancient Prepare items can be combined with usual Set items, and ane cannot equip both Legendary and Aboriginal Legendary versions of the same ane-handed weapon or ring.

An Ancient detail'southward increased rolls merely affect base values that are expressed as absolute numbers; values expressed in % (such every bit Critical Hit Chance or increased damage dealt by skills) are not improved. Values related to resources (such as increased maximum Arcane Ability) or yards are besides non affected.

When linked in chat, to distinguish them, Ancient items will appear every bit {[Item Proper noun]} while an ordinary Legendary is displayed equally [Detail Proper noun].

The Legacy of Nightmares Prepare gives a significant impairment and protection bonus for each Ancient detail the player has equipped, simply only as long equally no other set bonuses are agile.

As of patch ii.4, 1 can empower an Ancient Particular via Kanai's Cube: sacrificing a Legendary Jewel of high rank will grant +5 primary attribute bonus per rank to the Aboriginal detail of player's choice.

As of patch 2.5, salve rewards 3 Forgotten Souls for each Ancient Detail.

Central Ancient Legendary Items

Primal items in patch ii.v.0

Equally of patch 2.5.0, each Ancient Legendary or Prepare item has a much lower risk to drib equally a Key item. This unlocks when any character on an account successfully beats a rank 70 Greater Rift in solo. Drops are unlocked for all characters of the same type, so Normal/Seasonal and Softcore/Hardcore characters must unlock them separately.

This does not count as different quality, and does not provide farther increase to stat ranges of an particular compared to Ancient items. Instead, all stats on the particular (including variables in the legendary affixes) will proceeds perfect values: maximum possible numbers of the Ancient stat ranges. Salvaging a Fundamental item yields fifteen Forgotten Souls.

Central item beam marking in red

Perfect rolls affect every affix including Master, Secondary, and Legendary, putting them to ideal value (whether that means the maximum or minimum value). Items do NOT marshal affixes to improve fit class or build (they are nonetheless random), however:

  • They will always drop with the appropriate principal stat for the graphic symbol'south grade (100% hazard to trigger Smart Boodle)
  • Armor items will always have the ideal number of sockets for that item (the maximum possible number, and guaranteed at least 1, if any are available). Nevertheless, to allow use of Ramaladni'due south Gift on a weapon, Fundamental weapons scroll with no sockets.
  • Options for Enchanting Key items are also guaranteed to be optimal rolls.

Primal Ancients can drop from any source of Legendary item in the game, including Horadric Caches, Kadala, and Kanai's Cube, but only later on having completed at least a level seventy Greater Rift. This requirement must but exist completed once per game way (Hardcore vs. Not-Hardcore, or Seasonal vs. Non-Seasonal), which means that for Seasonal characters it will reset with every Season. However, once that requirement has been met, all characters in that game way will benefit from it.

PrimalMap.jpg

Visually, a Primal item has a rich blood red ornament in place of the usual orange. As of Patch 2.vi.iv, Primal Legendaries are marked by a ruddy beam when they drib and indicated by a ruby pentagram icon on the mini-map. They also have a red edge and updated background on their icons in the player's stash.[v]

Development

These items were added for the most dedicated players, so that at that place would exist a articulate progression rails beyond augmenting Ancient Legendary items or completing the Flavor Journey.

Originally, Central items were supposed to have stat ranges fifty-fifty higher than those of Ancient items; this idea was scrapped and replaced with perfect rolls.
